Black Fundraisers UK

Who are we?

We're a volunteer-led group working to support fundraisers from the black, Asian and minoritised ethnic (BAME) Community by providing a regular forum to meet, share experiences and access professional support.

Founded in 2006 by black professionals with a common vision and over 30 years of fundraising experience, we're a unique network that is fast establishing its place in the fundraising sector by listening to BAME fundraisers and responding with practical and effective support. As BAME fundraisers, we understand feelings of isolation and solitude on this chosen career path. Black Fundraisers UK provides a welcome meeting arena and support structure to make these feelings a thing of the past.

Black Fundraisers UK promotes professionalism, integrity and personal development. If these qualities resonate with you, we welcome you to join us.

Our aims

Our aims as a group are:

  • To support and enable networking among black fundraisers.
  • To enhance the skills and ability of black fundraisers.
  • To promote fundraising within the black and minoritised ethnic (BME) community.
  • To improve access to fundraising expertise for BME organisations.
  • To be a body which represents the views of black fundraisers, both within the Chartered Institute of Fundraising and externally across the sector.
Our vision

Our vision is that every black fundraiser has the skills and the expertise to become a leader within their given sector.

Our mission

Our mission is to ensure black fundraisers have access to appropriate and professional support and that black community organisations have access to professional fundraising expertise.

Black Fundraisers UK provides a forum for fundraisers from the black and minorised ethnic (BME) community to meet, share experiences and access professional support.

As black professionals reflecting a wide range of charities and not for profit organisations we are well aware of the feelings of isolation and solitude confronted as a black fundraiser working in this sector.
