As part of our continued commitment to support fundraisers in the region, the Chartered Institute of Fundraising East Midlands runs an informal Buddy Scheme for any member seeking support within the industry. Participants get to experience a one to one relationship with a fundraising professional in the region. This involves regular face to face meetings, with the possibility for additional communication via phone, Skype or email.

All participants must be individual members of the Institute of Fundraising, be based in the East Midlands and in a fundraising role. Ideally you should have the support of your employer to take part, where relevant. We will match you to a Buddy local to your geographic location, where possible. The expectation is that participants will travel to meet their Buddy for face to face meetings, and each relationship chooses actual meeting arrangements.

On average, each relationship will have 3 to 4 meetings over a period of 3 months. (After which each party decides if they want to continue the relationship informally.) We expect members to stay involved and Buddy another fundraiser; this keeps to the spirit of the programme and allows for support to more fundraisers in the region.

Participants must pay a £30 administrative charge prior to the programme starting. All participants must be able to cover the travel expenses associated with the scheme.
