Matthew Cock

Matthew offers trusts and foundations fundraising and consultancy for charities / non-profits, based on 8 years’ experience as CEO of an arts access organisation, and 28 years in the arts/museums sector.

While CEO of an arts access charity (2015-23), I made successful applications to Arts Council England (for National Portfolio Organisation status, and a National Lottery project grant), National Lottery Heritage Fund, and multiple grants from trusts and foundations.

I can provide either:

  • Short-term support to help create a case for support, and develop a trusts and foundations fundraising strategy.

  • Short-term support for an in-house fundraiser(s) to research and develop a new pipeline for funding prospects.

  • Hands-on support for 6-12 months before you decide whether to commit to an in-house fundraiser.

  • Long-term fundraising, for a fixed number of days a month or ‘on demand’.

Consultancy could include:

  • Developing a case for support for your organisation or activity.

  • Identifying specific fundraising opportunities.

  • Auditing previous fundraising activity: re-invigorating previous donors and exploring new prospects.

  • Devising a fundraising strategy.

  • Researching and identifying target trusts and foundations.

  • Writing and submitting funding applications.

  • Maintaining a record of applications submitted, dates, responses, requirements and any other important information.

  • Writing / preparing progress reports for senior management / trustees.

  • Writing / preparing and submitting progress reports for funders. I’d love to work with you. Let me help tell your organisation’s story and fund your cause.
